How to Make Your Pins Perform Better on Pinterest
Write your pin descriptions in sentence form, with several keyword phrases sprinkled throughout, and add 3-5 hashtags at the end.

Pinterest is a search engine, but the way people search on Pinterest is going to be different, for the most part, versus how people search on Google. That’s why it’s important to use Pinterest itself as your main tool for finding the right keywords to use for your pin descriptions.

A time-consuming method but definitely worth it to spend some time pulling together a keyword list for the majority of your content and niche. For example, I write posts about being a virtual assistant or virtual assistant tips a lot, and using the search bar gives me a ton of keywords I can keep aside for those kinds of posts.
Those bubbles at the top give you additional keywords to add to the end of the keyword ‘virtual assistant’.
2) Use the Pinterest Trends Tool
Did you know that Pinterest has it’s own trends tool that you can use to see how many people are currently searching for a certain keyword or topic? It can also be helpful in coming up with new content ideas, as well as keyword research.
3) Use Pinterest Ads as a Keyword Research Tool
You don’t have to actually create an ad campaign to use the campaign creation process as a tool for finding keywords. When you enter a search term, Pinterest will provide you with data on how many average searches per month a keyword has. This can also be helpful in deciding what are the right keywords to use in your pin description.
