Helping small business owners, virtual assistants, and creative entrepreneurs grow their business.
Hi, I'm Tara! I'm a multi-passionate business and marketing coach.
It’s here! Season two of the podcast, that is. It’s been a few months since the podcast has been off the air. You haven’t heard from me since then, so I decided that sharing what I’ve been up to for the past few months, and what’s next in my business for 2022 was the perfect way to get back into the swing of things. I am so excited to be back for the new season, but it was also super nice not to share weekly podcast episodes for a few weeks and get some fresh ideas pumping. I have a lot of exciting things to share with you including some changes in my business, new additions that I have made, and things for you to watch out for in the coming months.
In this episode, I dive into:
First things first, do you set a word or intention for the new year? I’ve never been one for New Year’s Resolutions. It’s just not my thing. Even when I have set them in the past, it wasn’t something that I usually stuck to. However, I always try to pick a word of the year. For 2022, my word of the year is simple. I want to simplify everything in my business. I want to simplify the systems that I’m using, the offers that I have, my marketing, and my content pillars. If I decide to go ahead with a project, I am going to continuously ask myself through every step of that project, is this really simple? Is this going to be simple enough that I can do this consistently long-term? I feel like it’s really going to help keep me on track and know if what I’m creating and what I’m putting out is going to be a fit for my business and my goal long-term. If it doesn’t feel simple to me, then I probably will not do it.
If you haven’t set a word or intention for your year yet, then definitely give it a shot. I have heard some really great ones from people already at the start of January and would love to hear yours if I haven’t heard from you over on Instagram yet to see how it’s going for you so far since we are now into February.
A few things that I decided with my business as I made my game plan for 2022 was to set my business goals and really look forward to where I want my business to go. The first and probably the biggest project that I decided to implement, and it goes along with the word simple for 2022, I decided to restructure my Introvertpreneur Club membership. I also raised the price of the membership on January 1st. This membership has been running since July 2020 and every month had a predetermined topic. I would do a training and/or provide resources, swipe files, templates, whatever was needed for that topic and it was really great. However, I noticed that people weren’t necessarily consuming the content on a monthly basis. It started to feel like something I was struggling to do consistently. I took a look at what my members needed, what they really wanted, how they were showing up, and I decided to restructure it a bit.
Instead of doing monthly content on preset topics that were planned out a year in advance, it is now focused on more personalized support and feedback because that is what people really want. That is what they crave and what they thrive on, especially as an introvert. You want to connect with other people who get you and get the kind of things that you’re struggling with. Moving forward, I decided to restructure it. There’s no more monthly content. We have a lot of content in there already from July 2020 up to December 2021. There is monthly content in there that is going to be continuously updated, but I don’t want to be on a set schedule with creating that content. And because my members weren’t using it, it was exhausting to me. I wasn’t able to really show up and deliver how I wanted to.
We are now focused more on the one-on-one personal support in the club. We’re continuing with our monthly group coaching call, and I’ve added in two Voxer office hour days per month. They’ve been really great so far. I absolutely love connecting with my members on Voxer, especially with fellow introverts. Sometimes people don’t want to show up to the group coaching call live on Zoom, or ask any questions, but they are comfortable asking one on one questions through text or an audio message on Voxer. It really fits with the membership. I’ve also added in a few extra bonuses for club members. If you’re a Club member, instead of the monthly content that’s planned way in advance, you now get access to any paid live training that I do while you’re a member. The first one we did in January was called Content to Clients. All of my club members got the invite to join me live for that paid live training, and they got the replay. Also, if I ever turn these into a course, they get access to that as well. It’s just a little bonus that keeps the content going, but not in a way that’s so restrictive to me.
Along with the changes of the Introvertpreneur Club, I also wanted to come up with a way that I could offer really accessible coaching, guidance, and mentoring. One idea that I discovered was a very low-cost membership, which is essentially a private audio podcast.
So I launched Tara’s Tips and Tricks in January. For just $9 per month, people can submit questions, and I will answer them via audio that they can listen to wherever they listen to podcasts. I think it is really helpful if somebody has a really big question, is struggling, or wants help brainstorming. This is a really low-cost way to get your questions answered, and have me take a look at your business, basically.
Also inside this audio membership, I share a lot of behind-the-scenes kinds of things. There are more in-depth, personal peek behind my business kind of insights that you will get as well, as a member. It’s not a huge business-changing thing, but if I can help and impact people and make working with me more accessible, then I’m going to do it.
Along with the word simple, I’ve decided for my 2022 plan that I’m going to be focusing a lot more on creating digital products, which is something that I’m really passionate about and I really love to do. One of my most popular and recent digital product ideas was content kits. These content kits are basically a content marketing, done-for-you system in a box. It comes with blog posts, email copy, Instagram captions, Pinterest Canva templates, Instagram story templates, and Instagram posts templates.
These are packed full of content, and they are geared towards service providers and attraction marketing is a big part of them. They are designed to help you build your authority as a service provider and turn people into clients. They have been doing really well. I’ve just launched three more content kits, which I’m really excited about. If you have any suggestions about future content kits that you would really love to see for your business, that would be really helpful. I would love, love to put together a content kit that’s really going to help you, impact your business, and your audience.
Along with digital products and the word simple, I am also going to be redoing all of my evergreen sales funnels, which are in progress right now. I’m launching a lot of new freebies and I will be creating a lot of new small trip-wire offers that are smaller products in the $7 to $27 price range.
As I’m moving my business forward, marketing has always been a big focus of mine. I love marketing, and I always talk about marketing. For me at the end of the year, I would say maybe the last four or six months, I did lose my way when it came to marketing. The reason why I say this is because if you notice my blog had a pretty quiet period. Blogging is my main marketing method and my favorite marketing method. Moving forward into 2022, I really took a hard look through that workshop that I did with my club members.
I dove into where my marketing was working and saw results. I already knew what the results were going to be, but it was just going through, pulling in the data, and seeing it that inspired me to take action and make a plan moving forward. I am focusing a lot less on Instagram and social media in general.
Mainly where I’m going to be hanging out or where I will be creating content for my blog, email marketing, and within my private Facebook group. This private Facebook group used to be just for club members, but I decided to open it up to anyone in my audience who has ever purchased from me and any clients I’ve worked with as a client and student space. I called it My Inner Circle, which the name could change eventually. It was a very quick plan to implement this at the end of 2021. This private Facebook group is primarily where I will be hanging out when it comes to social media because I want to nurture those relationships. I want to give the best version of me and the most impactful version of me to the people in my audience who are fans, who have purchased, or who have signed up for something. Those are my people.
I feel like trying to be out there on Instagram constantly, and in other Facebook groups, it was just a lot of noise. It became a little overwhelming, especially as an introvert, so I took a step back in late October. I decided to stop engaging on Instagram and just check in with myself and see how that felt to me. The surprising thing is, I didn’t miss it. My business didn’t miss it, and I think my audience who really connected with me and resonated with me didn’t really miss it either because they are either in my Facebook group or on my email list. I am choosing to focus on the methods that I really love, which again are blogging, email marketing, and my private Facebook group.
One last thing I’ll also share that I’m working on right now for 2022 is the second annual Introvertpreneur Virtual Summit, which is happening this April. I am so excited to be doing this virtual summit again. Last year was so incredible, and I know that this year will be even better. We have so many excellent speakers already set and lined up. The list of presentations are just mind-blowing.
We are fully in the planning stages for that for the summit in April, and you’ll be the first to know when you can grab your free ticket and sign up for the summit.
And speaking of summits and digital products, I have something super special to share with you guys. I finally made the most of the 40 presentations from last year’s Introvertpreneur Summit. I’ve set them up in my course platform as a one-time offer digital product. You can grab all of the presentations from last year’s summit, which were lit, so if you didn’t attend the summit last year, or you found me after the summit was over, I strongly encourage you to grab this offer for $37. You can get access to these 40 presentations, with some of them being 20 minutes long and the longest one being maybe an hour to an hour and a half. That is a lot of content for you to go through and learn different business strategies and how to overcome various mindset obstacles. There are many beneficial and insightful presentations from some incredible experts. It is a one-time-only special offer before April, when the next summit starts.
